At NordVPN, we strive to fulfill Tim Berners-Lee’s dream of a truly open Internet. Berners-Lee introduced the Internet as a completely different place when he implemented the first successful HTML publication in 1989. It was a safe space, free of censorship and surveillance. Unfortunately, as headlines from around the world show on a daily basis, this is not the case these days. This is our passion and that is why we come to work every day. We strive to provide absolutely uncompromising security and privacy on the Internet. We are sure that nobody sees what you are doing on the Internet because you shouldn’t. We are free internet enthusiasts who believe in a common secure online future. In a spirit of transparency, we will do our best to keep you up-to-date with all aspects of our service, from updating server status to random failures. We strive to create a solid relationship of mutual trust with you, clients who share our deepest values.

What does a VPN do?

Usually when you try to access a website on the Internet, you start by connecting to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). They redirect you to any website (or other online resources) you want to visit. All of your internet traffic passes through your internet provider’s servers, which means they can see and record everything you do online. They can even share their visit history with advertisers, government agencies, and other third parties. It redirects your internet traffic through a specially configured remote server. In this way, the VPN hides your IP address and encrypts all the data it sends or receives. Encrypted data does not make sense to everyone who intercepts it, it is impossible to read it.

Secure internet connection

Consider a public Wi-Fi network, perhaps at an airport or coffee shop. Usually you connect without hesitation, but do you know who can monitor network traffic?  Can you be sure that the access point is legal? Could you be identified by a criminal looking for your personal information? Think of passwords, bank details, credit card numbers, and any other personal information you send each time you access the Internet. When the VPN is turned on, all sent and received data is transmitted through an encrypted tunnel so that no one can receive your personal information. This means that even if the cyber criminal somehow manages to intercept your data, you will not be able to decrypt it.
