As an Original for One company, we have always been in business to improve our lives. Since 2006, our community has provided nearly 100 million pairs of shoes to people in need. And while shoes can have a big impact, we learned that the provision of shoes and grants can have an even greater impact. Now, for every 3 dollars we make, we give back 1 dollar. This is our commitment to our customers, our partners and our future. Traveling through Argentina in 2006, TOMS founder Blake Mikoski saw the difficulties faced by children without shoes. This inspired him to create a commercial business with a return at its core. Idea? For each pair of shoes sold by the company, a new pair will be given to the needy child. And with that, TOMS was born – short for Tomorrow’s Shoes. In 2009, TOMS invested in a team of international experts in the field of development, healthcare and non-profit organizations, now called the Giving Team. Over the next 10 years, this team has established relationships with more than 200 non-governmental and humanitarian organizations in 80 countries. By working hand in hand with these organizations, TOMS can better understand the needs of the served communities. We could also help meet these needs by integrating TOMS resources into existing programs, such as health, education and community development programs. After thirteen years and almost 100 million pairs of shoes, we have come to understand that communities around the world are facing new and complex challenges, and we believe So, we set ourselves the task of redefining a better future, and this is what we came up with: a better future is where humanity thrives. For us, this means that no matter who you are or where you live, you feel physically safe, mentally healthy and have equal access to opportunities. And in order to support our vision of a prosperous humanity, we now give shoes and impact grants to partners around the world who are working to create positive In 2011, we launched TOMS Eyewear in partnership with the Seva Foundation to help provide medical care, vision-preserving surgery and prescription glasses for those in need. And later, in 2014, we launched TOMS Roasting Co®. In partnership with Water For People, TOMS coffee sales helped create sustainable water systems in communities that did not have access to safe water.
TOMS® contributing to the Global Funding
We earn a net profit on each product sold to the TOMS COVID-19 Global Charity Fund. That is, for every $ 3 we earn, we contribute $ 1 to the fund, the total amount of which is directly related to sales. We will then provide grants to Partners who provide basic services in response to COVID-19, such as mental health support, hand washing, and medical supplies.
TOMS® Giving Partners will the Global Giving Fund support
TOMS will finance six organizations during the first round of funding. The first Delivery Partners are: American, Crisis Text Line, International Medical Corps, Health Partners, The Mix and Water Aid.
